100 Year History

Anderson Buick GMC — Celebrating Our 100 Year Anniversary

This year marks 100 years of success for Anderson Automotive, founded by Arthur "A.D." Anderson! A.D. started with only one Chevrolet dealership which quickly grew to include Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Mercedes-Benz, Lancia, Borgward, and BMW. As time passed, A.D. welcomed many trustworthy salesmen into the Anderson organization including Bill Mortimer who started in 1949 and bought the dealership from A.D. in 1962.

Mortimer renamed the dealership as "Bill Mortimer's Anderson Oldsmobile" and chose to keep the Anderson name because of its extraordinary brand equity and attained national recognition in 1987 as the number one Oldsmobile dealer in the country.

Today, Anderson Automotive remains in Bel Air North, MD, where everything started so many years ago and now consists of Buick , GMC , and Honda franchises with exceptional service and body shop businesses. The Anderson name continues to be recognized for its outstanding customer service and reputation for getting Maryland drivers from Owings Mills, Towson, and Timonium , the vehicles they need and want.

We are Proud to Be a Premium Auto Dealer Maryland Drivers Can Trust

As with most automotive retailers, we had humble beginnings. However, what started out as a small company grew exponentially as we built a reputation for ourselves. Our claim to fame is owed to two main factors. We keep a diverse portfolio of luxury cars and SUVs in stock at all times, and we provide essential services to make the most of ownership or lease. Together, these qualities enable our team to address all our customers' needs—and our history is a testament to our achievements at our dealerships near Towson and Bel Air, MD.
